My Design Footstep: Batik

I don't really know about batik and not a fans of it. Based on my understanding, batik is more to traditional way of art and mostly consists of flowers which I don't really like it.

Therefore, I choose "Abstract" for my batik theme. But firstly, all of our members have to sketch our own theme and show it to Ms Lisa for the finalization.

After the discussion with Ms Lisa, my idea was selected for our group. So everyone in my group has to do their own abstract face on the batik and combined to each other.

We headed to a huge batik factory and saw a lot of masterpieces hanging on the wall which looked amazingly beautiful.

After a short tour around the factory, we were given a basic tutorial on the procedure of batik making by a professional artist.
Then, the staff lead us to the place for our batik printing.
There are 5 long table with a huge white cloth hanging in between which is the batik.
We choose our spot and start pouring the hot wax on the batik according to our design.
There are also tons of colours besides the table and we are allow to mix any colour we like to produce a colourful batik.

We spent around 2 hours in the factory and finally complete our batik design.

We were told to leave our batik there because the staff will help us to frame it nicely and sent to our campus on the next week.

5 of us combined our batik together and formed a huge piece of art.
Bottom right is mine and it looked too dark in the sense. I'm not really satisfied with it because i put too much black in the beginning, that's why it becomes like this...
Anyway, it still looked great after the combination.
Thanks to my team members who really put their effort in this assignment which make us the best batik design in our class.
